Intensive Teachers
Spend each morning with one of our amazing teachers, developing your skills and technique over three days. There is a class suitable for every level of experience.
Zoe Solomons
This class is for all levels of experience
So how does lifting work?
Humans with bones, muscles, and fascia employing momentum, strength and alignment.
This intensive will be a deep dive into the bio mechanics of weight sharing; applying the science to the practice. We may look at models, slides and discuss research as well as move, experiment and dance. The aim is to develop a refined weight sharing practice that feels free, efficient and delicious to experience.

This intensive class is fed by Zoe's experience and research as an Axis Syllabus facilitator, osteopath, dance and CI practitioner.
Floorwork and Improvisation
In these sessions we will dance with the floor, with ourselves and with each other. We will improvise and we will learn some sequences of movement that help our bodies to move smoothly and easily on, across, into and out of the floor. Developing an understanding of the moving body in relation to gravity, the earth, space and to other bodies. Integrating floor-work techniques, Improvisational practices and Contact Improvisation to open new pathways and possibilities through the body. We will find greater freedom to explore our selves through movement, and connecting to others with clarity and awareness.
With a focus also towards more intense ‘Physicality’. Learning how to move on the hands, how to jump, how to fall and how to catch - both yourself and other people. Building up a toolkit of elements to play with. Creating a broad experience of dancing and moving that will help to access more freedom and playfulness in our own jam spaces and beyond.
Serious Playtime.

Course for beginners
The core of CI - A beginners course
I will start by offering exercises that articulate physical listening and receptivity through touch, which is my current opinion of what the Core of CI is.
There will be somatic exercises about how to move comfortably in close connection with the floor, exercises about communicating with a partner through touch and through space and discussion/practice of consensual touch and freedom of choice in dancing. There will be exercises about safely exchanging body weight with a partner and how to get in and out of a contact dance. We will practice how to fall and roll safely, and integrate previous learning into free dancing and Jamming. I will promote dialogue around your current questions and point towards ways of exploring your questions through physical practice.
This intensive is for beginners. This intensive is for more advanced CI dancers who have never done a beginners course. This intensive is for advanced CI dancers who are interested in teaching. This intensive is for everyone
